Abi Wade (cello.box.voice) A Musical collaboration between limbs,
strings and vocal chords. Her music is seemingly and seamlessly sewn
together, each beat, melody and bass line put exactly in its place, to
create songs that pull the heart strings and a performance that will
beguile and intrigue.
The cello, uniquely utilised is the backbone to the four songs that comprise her And Blood And Air EP – a set
that strikes the listener with a singular blow, soft but undeniably
affecting. Carved with a uniquely tailored blade it is hard to liken her to any former artist, but
similarities have been drawn to the independently distinct
Arthur Russell, Joanna Newsom and Kate Bush.
"..beautiful music characterised by stripped back instrumentation,
compelling harmonies and haunting voice brings to mind artist such as
Regina Spector and Kate Bush...released through Love Thy
Neighbour Records, formed by Daniel Copeman of Esben & the Witch’s.
The track ‘Stability’ hints at amazing things to come."

"Brushes, sticks, boxes – it’s all sounds good to us. But most of all it
sounds like nothing we’ve heard before. And that’s why Abi Wade is so
exciting. She’s really made that cello her own.' - James Kendall The Source Mag Brighton
"When evaluating any EP from a new artist, the verdict either falls on
the side of ‘I’ve had enough,’ or ‘Please put more on my plate.’ And
Blood and Air easily fits into the ‘Please put more on my plate’
category. We can’t wait to hear what this psycho cellist has for us
next." - Dan MacIntosh music news
